Over 60 years, The American University of Paris has been the only foreign-accredited, comprehensive university on French soil. Since 1962, we’ve remained a hub of engaged liberal arts learning on the banks of the Seine, all the while evolving our offering to suit the needs of each incoming cohort of global explorers.
On this page, you’ll find a timeline of important moments in the University’s history as well as biographies of key people who have helped make AUP what it is today. We’ve also delved into the archives for photos from AUP’s history – and you can even submit your own contributions! Finally, you’ll be able to browse institutional logos from the last 60 years, before learning about the bold new monogram we’ve unveiled to carry us forward into the years to come.
